Stick with the Exner and colleagues series

I have read and used a number of Rorschach scoring and interpretive guides and I feel that the pedagogical value of this book is on par with it's monetary value. As other reviewers have commented, this text is out of date. I also noticed that the case example towards the end is wrought with scoring errors. I purchased this as a brief guide for students in clinical placements, but I am now sure it is better that I summarize the contents of the Exner series for them. I don't recommend this text for anyone who actually uses the test.

A useful tertiary reference

In my experience, all of the "Essentials" series books are useful to a greater or lesser degree. I routinely write psychological testing reports, and have a stack of reference books nearby for quick perusal. This is NOT a book that should be used by students or professionals to comprehensively score and interpret a Rorschach; the Exner workbook is needed for that. However, this book has an excellently compiled index that allows the evaluator to quickly look up research and normative data on specific variables that stand out in a record.

Look at other books before buying this one

I bought this book to assist me in learning the Rorshach in a projective assessment class. The book is easy to read, and it certainly provides the reader with eye catching information boxes that help to make sense out of complicated material. However, there are some problems. First, the book is out of date: it does not refer to current research or Exner's newest comprehensive edition. An update of this book might take care of this problem. Second, at times material that could be more comprehensively laid out for the reader is neglected. This concern would require the authors to re-write sections that are overly simplified.

Easy, clear reference for students

Great resource. Organized clearly and easy to reference. It's a great pic for students vs. other nursing drug guides. Only drawback is that it is alphabetized by the generic drug name, so if you don't know it, you have to look it up in the index or otherwise find out before you can go drug info.

Great for everyone to use!

I originally purchased the 10th ed. in 2013, which had an up-date for new drugs for 2014. It seemed to have all the info I needed; therefore, I purchased the 11th edition with the up-date for 2016. So far it seems to have the drugs I need to review for clinicals each day. It is wonderful because it states the key drugs seen on the NCLEX. I also like the brighter colors in the monographs. I think over all, it is a great book to have during clinicals and great for nurses too.

Seriously the BEST drug guide book for nursing students! This will be my 3rd drug guide purchase i've made since starting nursing school fall 15'! I bought (Davis & Lippincot), Lippincot was not bad but I'm more of a visual learner and felt this book was bright but not enough! Davis is (HORRIBLE) black and white and is geared towards more advanced nurses who know medical terminology!
So this was the best choice! I previewed it at B&N but bought online because it's wayyyyyy cheaper!

So happy with my purchase!!!!

Awesome learning book

As a Learning Cocos2d-JS book, this is a spectacular book, the author give a lot of examples about engine features, you can start to make your games
using physics(Box2D and Chipmunk), endless runner, particle, virtual pads, swipe gestures, grid levels, etc.

The JS port of the Cocos2d-X engine is good, and the author is a great writer (his blog is really awesome), but, some people talks about this cross platform powers of Cocos2d-JS, that is possible to use on web and on devices, I thought that the author could give more information about, I have few questions about native development and more about to publish on web... and I'm not a complete beginner on Cocos2d-x C++ version, but the Cocos2d-x community is so active that all my questions about Android side was solved, but for web I am just starting, all examples run in every platform, you just need to know how to do it, isn't just HTML5, after you know how to use this engine for each platform in command line, isn't so complicated and it is on README file on root folder, you will see how powerful this book is and after that you will simply love it, as the title says "Learning Cocos2d-JS", this book is a powerful tool to you learn to make games, Cocos2d-JS is really fast for test, for my games the stability and performance was almost like native.

Relatively brief, but good, survey of Cocos2d-JS v3

This relatively brief book is probably best thought of as a quick review of what Cocos2d-JS has to offer. The core OSS project has been active and that is great to see as "native" Web based games continue to mature. While advanced knowledge of HTML5 & JavaScript isn’t necessary, some generic JavaScript coding experience makes reading the book a bit more easy to understand.

I found the overall presentation to be relatively straight-forward and clear, and the code examples not too complicated, but not entirely trivial either. If you read the book as a relatively short survey, you’ll be pretty satisfied and ready to find more depth elsewhere. If you are looking for a detailed walk through Cocos2d architecture, framework features, and coding patterns, you will be left wanting more (which was my case).

I'd give the book 5 starts if it went a bit more into Cocos2d-JS framework details and more conceptual bits on structuring programs for a web publishing target...especially as projects get larger, etc.

Great book for starting out in Cocos2d-js

This was a fantastic book. There are a couple errors on the Kindle edition(the version I bought) but the code examples are all there. The different chapters each provide very useful information. I look forward to other books from this author.

A little more on the book itself. This is great if you are completely new to Cocos2d-js(as I was). After reading the book I feel it gave me a solid base as to where to dive deeper on certain topics for a game I am working on. If you are new to Cocos2d-js it is well worth the money.
